According to a recent report, PSG might be closer than ever to sign Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window.

Sergio Ramos’ situation with Real Madrid is getting him closer to PSG than we all expected. Florentino Perez is currently denying him the salary increase he requests, something already happened a few times in the past. The difference now is that Ramos is no longer a young player who can make any huge demands. Going abroad is the only option for him to get the payday he is after, if that’s actually what he wants.

There’s a general notion that Sergio Ramos isn’t only after the money, but the prestige of playing for the same club for the majority if his career. As a Real Madrid legend, Ramos is arguably amongst the most important footballers in the club’s history. To this day, he and Karim Benzemaa remain as the only true stars at the Spanish club regardless of their veteran status. But the PSG option is quite appealing to Sergio Ramos for a number of reasons.

Playing with Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe.

Apart from the obvious money reason, Sergio Ramos would like the idea to play at PSG for a number of reasons. To behind with, he would play alongside stars like Kylian Mbappe or Neymar. But the French giants will also try to sign Lionel Messi next summer alongside Ramos. This is more than enough reason to convince Sergio that playing for PSG is the best career move for him right now.

Diario Sport reports that Real Madrid is still expecting a response of the €9 million per season extension. PSG is offering a three-year contract and €15 million per season, which is considerably more than what his current club is offering him. It appears that given the situation, Sergio Ramos is closer than ever to Paris.
