Today, FC Barcelona released an update on Ansu Fati’s knee injury recovery and the treatment they are using to get him back to the football pitch.
Ansu Fati picked up a serious knee injury earlier in the season that might keep him out of the game for nearly six months. It happened right when he was starting to get more rhythm and scoring historic goals for his club. An injury this serious and this early in a player’s career can become a real burden. But Barcelona is only thinking about the many ways in which they can speed up Ansu Fati’s recovery.
In fact, they just published an update on a new method they are doing to regenerate the player’s bone tissue. This is a highly advanced medical procedure that Dr. Ramon Cugat started doing a few years ago. He considers Ansu Fati was eligible for such treatment and proposed it to the club.
FC Barcelona’s statement in full.
FC Barcelona released a statement on their official website to explain the method they used for Ansu Fati: “First team player Ansu Fati has undergone a regenerative biological treatment by Dr. Ramon Cugat under the supervision of the club’s medical services, with the evolution of his injury following a very satisfactory course.
“Ansu was injured last November in the match against Betis, and was successfully operated on for the injury to the internal meniscus of his left knee by Dr. Cugat. This season, the young Barça striker has played 10 games: 7 in the league and 3 in the Champions League, totalling 596 minutes in which he has scored five goals and provided two assists.”
