After Real Madrid’s attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe, Barcelona are building up an eye-catching plan to snatch the PSG striker.
The Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe will soon run out of contract at the end of this season and will be able to look for other alternatives for his career. We all witnessed Real Madrid’s attempts to sign the “speedster” during this summer, though PSG were quite hard to convince. But now, according to a report from Diario AS, Barcelona will try their luck in snatching Mbappe as soon as he becomes available for free.
Up until now, there was a general perspective that Los Blancos will end up buying the Frenchman after his contract terminates next year. Although that can still happen, Barcelona’s initiative in the race to acquire Mbappe can twist things for Madrid. Regardless of Barca’s troublesome financial problems, they presume that they will be able to offer a surprising €90 million signing bonus to the striker.
How likely is this to happen?
As per Transfermarkt, only 13 other transfers in the history of football have been able to grant more money than what will be offered by Barcelona. The Catalan side desire to put themselves in the driving seat by marking a €90 million signing bonus. This will potentially ensure that Real Madrid will give up, and end up with a maximum of €50 million on the table. However, Mbappe’s heart is walking him towards the Spanish capital, and cracking this deal for Barca would be a mountainous task.
Actually, back in 2017, Barcelona could have secured Mbappe from AS Monaco when they had the golden opportunity. By choice, the Catalan club purchased Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund in a considerable financial deal. We can now say that the club made a poor decision regarding that aspect. With Mbappe building a connection with Leo Messi, the reality for Barca is quite bitter at the moment. But, we’ll just have to wait and watch!
