After everything the club has done for him over the years, one of FC Barcelona’s outcasts is planning to leave the club for free this summer.

If the reports are true, an FC Barcelona outcast is planning to leave the club for free next summer. After a lot of speculation over his possible contract extension, it appears Ousmane Dembele could leave FC Barcelona hanging. Talks with the club have been stalling for weeks now, especially after Newcastle United’s takeover. Reports coming from Spain suggest the French player was contacted to possibly arrive at the club next season. Ever since he arrived from Borussia Dortmund, Ousmane Dembele hasn’t lived up to the expectations built around him due to his many injuries.

When Neymar left Barcelona to play for PSG, the club’s board entered panic mode with the plan to replace the Brazilian. Everybody in Europe knew they had €222 million and buying players would definitely come at a steep price. Dembele was far from the player he was supposed to become but Barça still paid a whopping €135 million for him. The Catalan club had so much patience for him despite his many injuries and he is responding through a possible exit.

Newcastle’s offer to Ousmane Dembele.

According to a report from Goal, Ousmane Dembele has been approached by Newcastle United with a €15 million per season offer. Given his contract ends next summer, the player can definitely leave for free. If this happened, it would definitely become one of Barcelona’s most harmful transactions from the modern era. A player who returned no benefits but made the club spend one of the highest amounts ever spent for any footballer.

Newcastle is also offering him €15 clean million as soon as he arrives and that annual contract. It’s still unclear the reasoning behind Ousmane Dembele’s possible decision but he would definitely leave Barcelona hanging if this were to happen. Problems keep piling up for the Blaugranas amid the endless controversies they suffer on a daily basis.
