According to a report from Spain, we will tell you Real Madrid’s actual chances to sign Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe in the transfer window.
Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are two of Real Madrid’s most obvious choices to sign next summer. Both of them fit the Spanish club’s profile of players they usually pursue, but there are some hurdles they need to overcome before they make any moves. According to a report from Josep Pedrerol, the club will go after one of the two players. However, Florentino Perez has a predilection for one of them above the other. Kylian Mbappe is the name that Real Madrid wants at any cost but his PSG exit doesn’t depend on them.
According to Pedrerol, the French forward’s arrival is directly linked to Messi’s arrival to the Ligue 1 club. If this doesn’t happen, they can pretty much forget about signing Kylian Mbappe any time soon. Regardless, the young player still wants to play in Spain once his journey with his current club comes to an end. If he signs a contract extension for five years, it could be until the summer of 2026. By that time, he will be mature and ready enough to finally become a Real Madrid player.
Haaland becomes an option, only if…
The only way Erling Haaland can become an option for Real Madrid, is if Kylian Mbappe’s transfer doesn’t come through. This is a highly likely scenario because the youngster has been hyping up his contract renewal in recent weeks. Plus, Leo Messi is starting to feel comfortable again in Barcelona. If the Argentine wins a new title at the Catalan club this season, all the clubs that wanted him can forget about him.
With Mbappe completely out of the question, Erling Haaland becomes the ideal plan B. Florentino Perez adores this player’s quality and he would be thrilled to go after him next summer. The competition for either of the two players will be stiff with several other clubs also interested in both. At the end of the day, Real Madrid has the advantage of a club where all footballers dream to represent when they are kids. Who would fit better at the Spanish club, Haaland or Mbappe?
