The Bavarians made a shock decision to replace Julian Nagelsmann with Tuchel mid-season.

Real Madrid were reportedly following Thomas Tuchel’s situation before his move to Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians confirmed the unexpected sacking of Julian Nagelsmann on Friday. A day later, Tuchel signed his contract as Bayern’s new manager, ending rumours about his possible transfer to Tottenham or Real Madrid.

According to UOL, Bayern’s swift move to hire Tuchel has shocked Real Madrid.

The Blancos were reportedly considering the German boss among their top candidates to replace Carlo Ancelotti next summer.

Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid is uncertain despite the Italian manager being more than a year away from his contract expiry.

Brazil is reportedly considering Ancelotti as their top priority target to succeed Tite. The veteran manager’s fantastic relationship with Brazilian Real Madrid players could work as a catalyst for his Selecao transfer.

Real Madrid could face a difficult choice in the summer if Ancelotti ends up joining Brazil. Julian Nagelsmann could become an option for the Blancos if he doesn’t move to Tottenham before the end of the season.

However, Real Madrid could also push to keep Ancelotti, who has repeatedly expressed his interest in staying at Santiago Bernabeu.

Speaking in a press conference last week, Ancelotti told reporters: “The club has to decide. I’d really love to stay at Real Madrid for my whole life, but it’s impossible. I want to continue here.

“If they want me to stay 3 months, I’ll enjoy 3 months. If they want 3 years, I’ll enjoy 3 years.”
