Winning four trophies in two years, the pair enjoyed a successful time together in the Spanish capital.

Carlo Ancelotti refuses to be drawn on talk of a potential Real Madrid return for Cristiano Ronaldo despite admitting his admiration for the player.

Ancelotti was presented as the new Real Madrid manager on Wednesday afternoon. He returned for a second spell at the club on a three-year contract as a successor to the man who had succeeded him back in 2015 – Zinedine Zidane, who stepped down from his managerial role following a trophyless 2019/20.

The Italian tactician led Los Blancos to their 10th Champions League triumph during his first spell. With Ronaldo central to his plans, he was also able to guide the team to Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup successes.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, remains linked with reuniting with the Spanish giants despite Juventus securing Champions League qualification.

“I love Cristiano very much but I don’t like to talk of players who are in other teams, he has a contract with Juventus and it doesn’t seem right to talk about him,” said Ancelotti, as per Tuttosport.

“I can talk about the good I want him and the happiness I have for what he is doing. An Italian journalist asked me if Cristiano was at the end of his career, I replied that he has scored 35 goals and therefore has lowered his pace of goals, he is at the end of his career.”
