The Blancos might have to play without a key midfielder in the Champions League battle.

Casemiro is a doubt for Real Madrid’s upcoming clash against Manchester City in the Champions League.

The Blancos will face Man City in the first leg of their semi-final tie on Tuesday. They will try to build on their sensational win against Chelsea in the previous run. However, they might be forced to play without the Brazilian midfielder.

Casemiro has continued his crucial role in Real Madrid’s midfield this season, making 42 appearances across all competitions.

The 30-year-old did not play for his side in their 3-2 win over Sevilla due to suspension. Real Madrid planned to have him back for their upcoming clash against Man City.

However, as reported by Marca, Casemiro was not able to complete the team training on Tuesday. The Spanish outlet claims the Blancos will have to play without the star midfielder.

This will be a huge blow for Real Madrid against City, who will most likely try to dominate the midfield at the Etihad Stadium. Real Madrid could use Eduardo Camavinga as Casemiro’s replacement, but the French starlet lacks enough physicality and experience for such a massive fixture.

Carlo Ancelotti might consider moving Federico Valverde back into midfield, which means he would either use Marco Asensio or Rodrygo down the right flank.
