Diaz has struggled to secure playing time at Real Madrid since his return from AC Milan.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has hinted at more playing time for Brahim Diaz in the coming weeks.
Diaz has played a total of only 110 minutes in La Liga since returning from a successful loan deal at AC Milan in the summer. The Spaniard has struggled to find his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, with the manager admitting he hasn’t gotten enough playing time.
“He hasn’t had have minutes but I know he can help the team,” Ancelotti said of Diaz. “The competition is very high here. He will play, maybe tomorrow or in the next games. I have no problem with him. He’s special (to me) because he played at AC Milan.”
Real Madrid’s star-studded midfield line has left little room for Diaz to showcase his fantastic development. At Milan, Diaz turned into a crucial player in Stefano Pioli’s system, with the Italian boss being eager to sign him on a permanent contract.
Ancelotti, however, is spoiled with a host of top-class choices in midfield. Jude Bellingham has established himself as a starter, while the likes of Edouardo Camavinga, Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Luka Modric are also available to play in different midfield roles.
Diaz could get his chances to start for Real Madrid against Braga in the Champions League, as Bellingham is an injury doubt for the game.
