The Blancos smashed Barca to claim their first trophy of the season.

Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 4-1 in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday. The Blancos’ devastating attacking line edged out Barca as Jude Bellingham celebrated his first trophy with the club.

What happened?

Real Madrid’s bright start to the game ensured an early opener as they went ahead only seven minutes after the kick-off. Vinicius Junior latched onto an assist from Bellingham before rounding Inaki Pena and making it 1-0 with a precise finish.

The Brazilian winger doubled Real Madrid’s lead only three minutes later, this time converting an assist from Rodrygo. Barcelona got back into the game through Robert Lewandowski’s sensational volley in the 33rd minute. But only six minutes later, Real Madrid sealed their victory with another goal.

Vinicius Junior’s penalty completed his hat-trick as he put Real Madrid 3-1 ahead before the break. Barcelona’s sluggish start to the second half ended their dreams of mounting a comeback while Real Madrid pushed to extend their lead.

Finally, Rodrygo put the icing on the cake for Real Madrid by scoring their fourth goal with a precise low shot in the 64th minute. Things got even worse for Barcelona when Ronald Araujo was sent off with a second yellow card later, but Blancos’ push to score their fifth goal was fruitless.
