Sergio Ramos chooses to be calm about his future at Real Madrid despite having entered the final year of his current contract.
Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos has been the club’s one of the most reliable and finest players over the past few years.
Ramos became the most expensive Spanish defender upon arriving at Santiago Bernabeu from Sevilla in a transfer worth around €27 million in the summer of 2005.
He has enjoyed immense success throughout his 15-year spell at the club so far, winning the Champions League multiple Champions League and La Liga titles, among several other honors.
At 34 years of age, he continues to be one of the world’s best defenders due to his intensely competitive nature.
However, with the center-back’s current expiring in 2021, there has been uncertainty regarding his future as of late.
“Renewal with Madrid? We have not touched on that issue, but it does not generate any intranquility” Ramos told El Chiringuito TV.
“I have never considered leaving the team where I wanted to be. If an agreement has to be reached there will be no problem”
Real Madrid, are per reports, were initially were only willing him to offer only a one-year contract extension to their captain. But considering how influential he was in their last season’s La Liga success, the club are now preparing to renew their captain’s contract for two more years.
