The German manager praises Ronaldo after the Portuguese star revived the Red Devils’ top-four chances.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second hat-trick of the season as he helped Manchester United beat Norwich City 3-2. The victory sent the Red Devils to fifth place on the league table after Arsenal lost their match against Southampton.

Ralf Rangnick’s side are now only three points behind Tottenham, who sit fourth on the league table. Speaking in a post-match interview, the German manager reacted to Ronaldo’s sublime hat-trick.

He said: “Quite like against Tottenham, he was very crucial today.

“The second and third goals are not easy goals. The way that he took those, the second and the third, was just outstanding.”

Ronaldo tapped home from close range to open the scoring at Old Trafford only nine minutes into the game. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner then doubled his side’s lead with a precise header.

However, Norwich managed to get back into the game as they scored twice in the second half. Everything was ready for United to suffer another disappointing draw when Ronaldo stepped up to restore their lead with a fantastic free-kick.

The Red Devils will now prepare to meet Liverpool in the North-West derby on Tuesday. Let’s see if CR7 can inspire United to beat their arch-rivals at Anfield.
