Man United were far from their best form, but some players still lived up to expectations.

Newcastle held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw in their Premier League match on Monday. The Red Devils conceded an early goal before Edinson Cavani scored the equalizer in the 71st minute.

Even after scoring their only goal of the night, United seem too out of focus to create serious chances. Rangnick’s side slipped to seventh place on the table while they were heavily criticized by United legend Garry Neville.

However, not every aspect of United’s game were the same in terms of quality. David De Gea prevented Newcastle from scoring several times as he impressed with several great saves.

In addition to the Spaniard, Rangnick also praised Cavani, who salvaged the point by scoring the equalizer as a substitute.

He said (via MEN): “I think we were better in some games so far in the past, but it’s also about getting results and again the good thing today was we came back and we got the equalizer.

“In the end it could have been 2-2 – again there were two or three fantastic saves from David De Gea, similar to the game at Norwich, but we also had our chances to score a second goal.

“For sure, David is one of the best goalkeepers in the world – he showed that at Norwich and in the game today.”

He added: “Edinson is a top striker who has been out with injury but it was good to have him on board again and to bring him on at half-time.”

Manchester United will now prepare to host Burnley in their next game on Thursday. The Red Devils will then take on Wolves four days later.
