You are reading this correctly, the French giants are plotting to swoop in before Manchester City and take the Argentine star from under their nose. Unless a miracle happens, Leo has decided that his time in Barcelona is over and he is looking for a new destination.
The options are the same two he had before: one is Manchester City and the other one is PSG. As one of England’s most powerful clubs, the Citizens’ board of directors will ignore Pep Guardiola’s requests to leave Messi at Barcelona. They want the Argentine to get a taste of what the Premier League is like while he can still play at the highest level. Initially, City refused to pay any money on his transfer because they knew that waiting a year would mean getting him for free. But this full-year opens the door for other clubs to have their shot at signing Messi, specifically PSG.

This alternative will only trigger if the planets align in PSG’s favor. Messi will have to refuse to sign a contract extension at FC Barcelona, Real Madrid will have to make an offer for Mbappe, and Neymar will have to work his magic with Leo. All of those are big “ifs” but they are not outside of the realm of possibility.
