Even though we know Lionel Messi will probably leave Barcelona for free next summer, PSG plans to sign him with Real Madrid’s money.

PSG has a brilliant master plan to sign Lionel Messi next summer and make Real Madrid pay for his full salary. You are reading this correctly, the French giants are plotting to swoop in before Manchester City and take the Argentine star from under their nose. Unless a miracle happens, Leo has decided that his time in Barcelona is over and he is looking for a new destination.

The options are the same two he had before: one is Manchester City and the other one is PSG. As one of England’s most powerful clubs, the Citizens’ board of directors will ignore Pep Guardiola’s requests to leave Messi at Barcelona. They want the Argentine to get a taste of what the Premier League is like while he can still play at the highest level. Initially, City refused to pay any money on his transfer because they knew that waiting a year would mean getting him for free. But this full-year opens the door for other clubs to have their shot at signing Messi, specifically PSG.

The Kylian Mbappe alternative.

A unique window of opportunity opens up for PSG next summer, one they weren’t really expecting. ‘El Chiringuito’ journalist, Quim Domenech has inside information about this plot. Florentino Perez decided to not spend any money on transfers last summer with the final goal of saving to buy Kylian Mbappe.

Even though the French giants have a history of not allowing their best players to leave, there’s an option for them to do it with no damage made. If they agree to sell Kylian Mbappe for €150 million, that money would directly go to paying Leo Messi’s wage for two seasons. All they need to do is get Neymar to convince his friend that Paris is a great place to finish his career.

This alternative will only trigger if the planets align in PSG’s favor. Messi will have to refuse to sign a contract extension at FC Barcelona, Real Madrid will have to make an offer for Mbappe, and Neymar will have to work his magic with Leo. All of those are big “ifs” but they are not outside of the realm of possibility.
