The highly-accomplished Spaniard is out of contract in the summer and is linked with a departure from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has hinted at the club’s transfer interest in Sergio Ramos.

Ramos has been an indispensable figure at Real Madrid over the years but, as things stand, he is about to end his 16-year-long association with the club. He is yet to put pen to paper on fresh terms despite his current contract due to expire in June.

He has demanded a two-year extension but Real Madrid are unwilling to hand him a renewal for more than a year.

Interest from a handful of European heavyweights has been reported for the Los Blancos skipper who is allowed to hold talks with other clubs for a free transfer next summer.

PSG appear to be at the front of the queue to land him, and Pochettino has now opened the door for his move.

“After one month [at PSG] I am finding players with great leadership. The great [players] are able to play and coexist in different projects and cultures, but I am very respectful,” the former Tottenham boss said in an interview with Marca.

“PSG’s strategy has been the same for years, ever since we signed Ronaldinho: to look at market opportunities and bring in those who can improve what we have.

“We will see in the coming months. Here, Ramos would find a great club with the obsession to always win. PSG are one of the biggest [clubs] in the world.”
