The Ligue 1 champions face an anxious wait for updates on their prized forward ahead of the showdown with Marseille.

Neymar missed training on Saturday due to illness, leaving him doubtful for Paris Saint-Germain’s trip to arch-rivals Marseille on Sunday night.

The former Barcelona forward couldn’t take part in the last training session. However, PSG announced in a brief statement that he hasn’t been ruled out yet until further notice.

“Neymar is absent from training this morning due to gastroenteritis, he will be evaluated in the coming hours,” read a club statement.

Colin Dagba (thigh), Timothee Pembele (COVID-19), Abdou Diallo (COVID-19), and Juan Bernat (ACL) are definetely out of the match.

And while midfielder Ander Herrera and goalkeeper Keylor Navas have reported back to training, the duo are set to miss the trip to the Stade Velodrome.

These injury setbacks will leave Mauricio Pochettino desperate to see Neymar avoid the same fate. The PSG manager will hold a press conference later on Saturday afternoon to discuss team news and the upcoming Classique.

Although Marco Verratti and Marquinhos have taken part in full training and should be available for the club’s third game of the season against Marseille.
