The Bavarians are pushing to sign a new centre-back after their failed attempt to hijack Totteham’s move for Radu Dragusin.

Bayern Munich are reportedly getting closer to completing a January move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Nordi Mukiele.

The Bavarians are eager to add a new centre-back to their ranks, as several injury blows have significantly decreased their squad depth in recent months. However, their efforts to sign Geona’s Radu Dragusin weren’t successful, as he eventually decided to join Tottenham.

Bayern have now shifted their focus toward Mukiele, who has struggled to secure regular playing time under Luis Enrique this season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Mukiele is keen to join Bayern mid-season, while Thomas Tuchel sees him as an ideal addition to his side’s defence line.

Bayern have continued their negotiations with PSG in recent days, aiming to secure Mukiele’s services on a loan deal with a buy clause. However, Romano believes PSG are unlikely to accept an offer from Bayern before finding a replacement for the Frenchman.

Lucas Hernandez’s summer move to PSG left a gap in Bayern’s squad that hasn’t been filled with Kim Min-jae this season. The South Korean star has struggled to establish his place as a leader in Bayern’s backline, with Matthijs de Ligt’s injury further adding to the team’s defensive woes.
