According to a report from L’Equipe, PSG have drastically changed their approach with Kylian Mbappe’s contract extension in recent days.

It appears PSG will no longer entertain the idea of Kylian Mbappe leaving during the summer transfer window. Initially, the French giants were almost sold on the idea that they young star was leaving to play in Spanish football after his contract ended. But Nasser Al-Khelaifi can never be trusted with these situations. Several players have suffered in the past when they attempted to leave.

The term “living in a cage made of gold” applies perfectly to PSG and their players. Once they come to represent the club, Al-Khelafi does everything in his power to make their lives miserable if they decide to leave. Promises were made to Mbappe when he arrived at the club but not by Nasser. We can already see a disagreement coming from both sides as soon as Mbappe’s contract ends.

Pochettino wants Mbappe to stay at all costs.

According to L’Equipe‘s today’s newspaper, Mauricio Pochettino is the main figure in this change of heart from Paris Saint-Germain. Al-Khelaifi already wanted him to stay but he was aware that the player wanted to leave after his contract was over. However, the Argentine manager has no intention of allowing Kylian to leave. The club will try to make him the most impressive offer to remain at the club for another five years, at least.

After all, the young star is still in the first stages of his career. He will have a lot of time to play somewhere else by the time he is 25 or 26 years old. What we still don’t know is how Real Madrid will react to this or which tactics PSG will use in order to convince him to stay. Having an angry Mbappe on the team is not a very good idea.
