Due to the incendiary comments of the last 24 hours, we all expected a response from PSG and it finally happened through Leonardo.
Kylian Mbappe’s decision to expose PSG’s lies has been one of the biggest stories in football this season. The young French forward spoke to two major media outlets from France in order to confirm he actually tried to leave back in July. His only destination was Real Madrid but he is being kept in the squad against his will. Nasser Al-Khelaifi prepared the entire club apparatus in order to prevent one of his best players from leaving. Leonardo denied any attempts to leave from the player but Mbappe had enough.
He practically called the Brazilian a liar and Florentino Perez added more insult to injury. The Real Madrid president went a little further in the conversation by revealing to the press a key point. In his view, Mbappe will reach an agreement with Real Madrid during the month of January. But Leonardo is not happy about this as he came out to defend his position through L’Equipe. If you thought this war between two giant clubs was over, think again. Mbappe is only getting started with these comments he made as soon as he left the PSG environment.
Leonardo directly blames Real Madrid.
Needless to say, Leonardo is extremely unhappy with the way things have played out over the last 24 hours. He considers Real Madrid is making things worse for him and for the club by pushing Mbappe out of the squad. During an interview with L’Equipe, the club’s sporting director said this: “It’s been 2 years that it lasts, I remind you that the transfer window is over.
“There are matches and Real Madrid cannot continue to behave in this way. May it stop! Mbappé is a PSG player and the club fully understands this relationship to last. These new comments are just the continuity of a lack of respect towards PSG and towards Kylian. In the same week, a Real Madrid player (Benzema), then Real Madrid coach (Ancelotti) and now the president talk about Kylian as if he is already one of them. Ancelotti, Benzema and now their president these [Mbappe] comments are the continuity of a lack of respect to PSG.”
