Ahead of the key UEFA Nations League semifinals, Raphael Varane spoke about the recent bomb that Kylian Mbappe dropped yesterday.

Raphael Varane was obviously questioned about the bomb that Kylian Mbappe dropped yesterday during his two interviews. First, he spoke to RMC Sport to reveal that he asked to leave PSG back in July but he was completely ignored. After that, he also spoke to L’Equipe to take a step back and confirm things have changed. Back when Kylian made the decision to leave PSG in order to play for Real Madrid, he didn’t expect Messi to arrive. As soon as the Argentine came to the club, Mbappe wanted to remain true to his convictions.

But Nasser Al-Khelaifi didn’t allow him to leave with the hope that Leo’s presence this season could change his mind. After Real Madrid’s failed attempts, the young star has no choice but to play an entire season by Messi and Neymar’s side. Oh, the humanity! It was obvious that after playing a few good games with Leo, Mbappe would at least start to reconsider his future at the club. All he cares about is becoming the best player in the world, regardless of where he plays. If this happens at PSG, so be it.

Varane knows Mbappe will make the right choice.

This is a matter of interpretation, especially due to Raphael Varane’s past as a Real Madrid player. He obviously would like Mbappe to play for Los Blancos but any PSG player would want him to stay where he is. With Florentino Perez stating we will get news about Mbappe’s future in January. It means we won’t have to wait that much longer to know where he will play next. But when Varane was asked about the entire situation, Marca reported his response.

This is what he said: “Kylian has his head firmly on his shoulders, he clearly knows what he wants. It is not my role to advise him. In the group, it is quite clear: immediately after a game, we are together.” For now, Mbappe needs to focus on facing Belgium during the second UEFA Nations League semifinal. By the time he returns to Paris, pressure will start mounting all around his decision. Everybody is eager to know where Kylian Mbappe will play next season but only he knows what’s going to happen.
