The France international limped off the pitch only 20 minutes into his side’s Ligue 1 victory.

Kylian Mbappe will stay out of action for three weeks after suffering a thigh injury on Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain confirms.

Mbappe missed a penalty and its retake early on in PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Montpellier. The night got worse for the French superstar when he took a knock to his leg in the 20th minute.

Speaking after the match, Christopher Galtier said there was “nothing to worry about” regarding Mbappe’s injury. However, further tests have shown the striker needs to stay out of action for three weeks.

“After examinations, Kylian Mbappé suffers from a lesion of the left thigh at the level of the femoral biceps,” an official statement from PSG read.

“His duration of unavailability is estimated at three weeks.”

Will Mbappe return before PSG vs Bayern?

PSG will have to face Bayern Munich in the last-16 round of the Champions League on February 14.

Mbappe will certainly miss the first-leg game at Parce des Prince. However, he will most likely be ready to face the German giants at Allianz Arena on March 8.

PSG will also have to play without the France international in their Ligue 1 games against Toulouse, Monaco and Lille.

A crucial Coupe de France match against Marseille next week will also come too soon for Mbappe. However, the PSG star might return for the two side’s next meeting on February 26.
