PSG chief gives a word on Neymar’s contract extension

PSG sporting director Leonardo provided some knowledge regarding Neymar’s contract which expires in June 2022.

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo said that the club will not sprint in making a new contract for star forward Neymar. 

The Brazil international’s agreement will end in June 2022. Therefore, the 29-year-old will be able to depart on a free transfer if PSG does not renew the terms with him.

According to some rumours, Barcelona are planning to bring back their former prospect at Camp Nou. However, such banters does not worry the PSG chief Leonardo as he keeps faith in Neymar.

Before the French champions played Metz in their Ligue 1 fixture on Saturday, the PSG head spoke to Canal Plus. “Neymar’s extension? We are in no hurry,” Leonardo explained.

“Nobody is running behind us, we are really quiet, we have very good and frank reports.”

After the Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, the Brazilian himself confirmed his stay at Parc des Princes. He said: “The contract extension with PSG is no longer a topic.”

“It is obvious that I feel very much at ease and very at home here at Paris Saint-Germain. I feel happier than I was before.”
