Ahead of PSG’s must-win game against Manchester United, Thomas Tuchel is wary of threat from a familiar face in Marcus Rashford.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel would be hoping Marcus Rashford does not pull up his usual stunt of scoring winners against the French giants.

The 23-year-old has a habit of scoring against PSG and those goals have proven to be match-winning goals.

The most famous of those goals came back in 2019 when Rashford scored the last goal for United against PSG in Paris. That goal sealed a 3-1 win for the Red Devils and ensured a dramatic comeback that stole all the headlines.

When both sides met in the opening game of the current Champions League season, it was the same Englishman who scored the winner for United in a 2-1 score-line.

Both sides will face off on Wednesday night and Thomas Tuchel will be eager to see his side claim a victory at Old Trafford.

United are under less pressure and need only one point from the game but the PSG boss knows first-hand Marcus Rashford will always remain a goal threat. He joked about it all while praising the United forward ahead of their clash.

He said as quoted by the Daily Mail: “We value him very much when he plays in England and not Parc des Princes, honestly, because (him scoring against us) gets a little bit annoying.”

“The guy is a very young adult who takes his responsibility on and off the pitch very impressively.”

“I have met him as an opponent three times and every time I’ve met a calm and humble guy and a nice person, which is amazing. I like this mixture a lot.”

“For me personally, the sporting side is clear – he’s a big threat with his speed, with his ability to score, with his determination and his finishing.”

Asides Rashford, another player Tuchel is well familiar with is Edinson Cavani. Having managed the player while he was at PSG, the German boss knows all about the veteran forward’s qualities.

The PSG boss added: “I’m happy for him personally that he could show this to all Manchester United fans in the last game against Southampton, where he was absolutely decisive for them.”

“He does not need to show it tomorrow, we already know, so he can do a little pause! It’s not necessary to show us. If he plays, we must find answers for that.”
