Parc des Princes opened its doors for a fresh Ligue 1 match between PSG and Girondins Bordeaux. We got the player ratings.
PSG received a visit from Girondins Bordeaux at Parc des Princes in a fresh Ligue 1 match during a tough week for football. With Diego Maradona’s passing still fresh on everybody’s memory, it was PSG’s turn to say goodbye to the legend. All players sported a shirt with his image on it as they all heard one of his famous songs interpreted by him.
But the homage didn’t end there, Neymar got to score a penalty early in the game and dedicated his goal to the late legend. Soon after that, Moise Kean scored the second goal after a shot from Neymar that was deflected by the Bordeaux goalkeeper. This game actually started with an unfortunate own goal from Pembele early in the game that forced PSG to go after the result.
Adli scores a beautiful equalizer.
During the second half, goalkeeper Costil was arguably the most important player of the game with several saves against PSG’s powerful attacks. Adli got to score a beautiful equalizer with a perfect shot from outside the box that gave Bordeaux one point.
Despite their constant attempts to get that winner, no PSG player was able to penetrate Costil’s wall. A sour outcome to a game all Parisian players wanted to win in Maradona’s memory. Despite the adverse result, no other club in French football can surpass the squad from the capital at the top of the table.
