The German marksman has opened up on his collective as well as individual ambitions for the upcoming season.
Timo Werner says Premier League is a “big target” for Chelsea in 2021-22 but winning the Champions League would be the “best thing”.
Chelsea last lifted the Premier League trophy in 2016/17, finishing ahead of runners-up Manchester City with a healthy seven-point lead.
They have struggled to truly challenge for the English top-flight crown ever since, finishing as low as fifth on the league table on one occasion.
However, the Blues will enter 2021/22 bursting with confidence as they go into the new campaign as the champions of Europe. With a match against Villarreal in the Super Cup awaiting on August 11, they have a chance to start the new season by winning a piece of silverware.
“We want to win a title; it doesn’t matter which one,” Werner told in an exclusive interview with the club website.
“The best thing would be the Champions League again, but also the Premier League is a big target. One of those titles is our target.
“For me individually it is to score maybe a little bit more than last year, which was not the best thing, but to keep going and to help the team as much as I can with assists and scoring.”
