After over a month as PSG’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino revealed the many differences between his club and Tottenham Hotspur.

For Mauricio Pochettino, changing Tottenham Hotspur for PSG must’ve been a massive shock in many aspects. The culture is different between life in France and England, that’s one of the main aspects. However, there are other details that the Argentine manager certainly felt were different between coaching one team and the other. In terms of economic power, PSG is one of the few clubs in the world that probably has no barriers when they want to spend money.

Tottenham, on the other hand, is a club famous for refusing to spend too much in players. Jose Mourinho can talk about these limitations for hours if you ask him, which is also a reason Pochettino left. But when asked about the differences and similarities, it was obvious Pochettino would refuse to talk about his former club in a negative light.

Pochettino remains grateful to PSG.

During his press conference ahead of PSG’s trip to Strasbourg, this is what Pochettino had to say about both clubs: “The great similarity is the quantity of matches player in a short period of time where you have to compete every three days. In this stage we are getting to at the end of the season and the pressure, it’s not an easy job. At Tottenham, we didn’t have this pandemic and that makes all the work far more complex.

“Nobody can create similarities between previous tenures to this one because the Covid factor is almost impossible to manage. You have to approach each squad in a different manner. This is something we’ll be able to discover with time. We will see how it affects the performance of the player and how we can adapt in the same manner.”
