After another incredible week for Kylian Mbappe, Mauricio Pochettino felt the need to talk about his young player’s future at PSG.

Kylian Mbappe has been the most talked about player of the entire week, but Mauricio Pochettino wants to distract us from that. Even though all people talk about is the young star’s exit from PSG, his club still plays hide and seek with the audience. Having Mbappe trying to leave the institution is far from convenient for them. Especially only a year before the World Cup.

However, there might be nothing they can really do if he decides to leave. In fact, there were reports coming from Spain this week of Kylian already talking to the club’s board about leaving. It’s no secret he wants to play for Real Madrid next season, but Pochettino has a different agenda. As a way to distract the world with the bad news, the manager wanted to apply more tension to the situation.

Mbappe is not leaving, according to Pochettino.

During this Friday’s press conference ahead of PSG’s visit to Strasbourg in Ligue 1, Pochettino revealed the following information via the club’s website: “This is something we are used to see. When we talk about the best players in the world such as Kylian, it’s clear rumors are inevitable. The most important thing is that Mbappe is relaxed.

“He is focused on his objectives, he’s got great maturity despite his young age. As I’ve said before, the club and the player are focused on reaching an agreement for Mbappe to stay for a long time. That’s what the club wants. Everything that happens around that, is something we can’t control. There aren’t any effects to the team’s performance or the atmosphere with respect to these topics.”
