One of the new PSG manager’s main priorities will be on unlocking Neymar’s full potential over at the Parc des Princes.

Mauricio Pochettino will focus on working out Neymar’s best position for Paris Saint-Germain once the Brazilian reports back to training.

The club’s world-record signing is out of the matchday squad for Pochettino’s debut at Saint-Etienne on Wednesday night. He is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained against Lyon last month. But the forward could return for the ‘Trophee des Champions’ clash with Marseille on January 13.

Until then, however, Pochettino will have to make do. The Argentine has already held two training sessions since replacing Thomas Tuchel as head coach. Reports in France claim he has experimented with 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 formations already, with Marco Verratti adopting a No.10 role.

But once Neymar is back up and running, Pochettino will make it a priority to bring out the best of the former Barcelona star along with the rest of the squad.

“When Neymar is able to train with the squad, we’ll talk everything through with him,” said Pochettino in a press conference on Tuesday evening.

“He’s a leader on the pitch of course, and that’s why we’ll try to get everything out of his talent on the pitch.

“All the players are leaders, and the more of those we have on the field the better it will be for the team.”

Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria, and Moise Kean are all available for the trip to Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1.

But Mauro Icardi, Alessandro Florenzi, Juan Bernat, Presnel Kimpembe, Leandro Paredes, Rafinha, and Danilo Pereira are all set to join Neymar on the sidelines.
