The Rossoneri have emerged as strong favorites in the Serie A title race, but their manager reminds there are others with similar ambitions.
AC Milan continued their winning ways by narrowly overcoming Sampdoria with a 2-1 result on Sunday.
The victory at the Luigi Ferraris saw Stefano Pioli’s men gain at least a comfortable five-point advantage over the other contenders early in this Serie A campaign.
It also meant that the league leaders have won eight of their first 10 league games – their best return at this stage of an Italian top-flight season since 1954/55.
Milan have started to look like the European superpower they used to be under Pioli and many are considering them to go all the way and win a first Scudetto in almost a decade.
The Italian tactician, though, suggests that there is still a long way to go and that he can see the others push harder as the season progresses.
“I believe this weekend’s results show the strongest teams are coming, they are closing up,” said Pioli, via Goal.
“I am convinced Inter, Juventus, and Napoli are still going to be challenging all the way to the end.
“How can you think Juve aren’t favorites after they won for nine years in a row? Or Inter with their investments, or Napoli with their talent?”
