PFA Player of the Year nominees have been revealed

The top six players for the 2020-21 season have been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award with Manchester City dominating the list.

The annual PFA Player of the Year nominees have been revealed on Wednesday with the ceremony due to take place on June 6.

The likes of Bruno Fernandes, Harry Kane, and Ruben Dias are at the top of the list for the 2020-21 season. As expected, Manchester City players are dominating in the men’s game as a result of their fifth Premier League title victory.

Other prizes besides PFA Players’ Player of the Year are PFA Young Player of the Year, Women’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year, and Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year.

PFA Players’ Player of the Year nominees

Bruno Fernandes is leading the chart with his incredible performance for Manchester United during the course of the campaign. The Portuguese managed to secure 18 goals and 12 assists in 37 appearances.

Tottenham star striker Harry Kane follows after winning the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards. However, the wildcard entry Ruben Dias has been one of the favourites to steal the individual prize for this season.

The Portuguese defender will also battle against his Manchester City teammates Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, and Phil Foden.

PFA Young Player of the Year nominees

When it comes to young talent, a variety of clubs have made the list of the PFA awards. Foden is the most anticipated winner for this individual award after his brilliant season at Etihad Stadium under Pep Guardiola. 

The 2019-20 champion Trent Alexander-Arnold has been one of the most influential players for Liverpool last season. On the other side, Bukayo Saka helped Arsenal to lift themselves from struggles. 

Other nominees include United striker Mason Greenwood, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, and West Ham central player Declan Rice.
