The Ivory Coast international met an Arsenal fan while away in Cameroon for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe has suggested teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will stay at the club, but couldn’t offer a definite answer.
The 26-year-old is in Cameroon, preparing for Ivory Coast’s last-16 AFCON clash with Egypt on Wednesday. However, club matters are never far away – as he discovered at the team hotel.
In a short video on Twitter, an Arsenal fan asked Pepe: “Is Aubameyang leaving or is he staying?”
The winger replied: “I don’t know. I think he’ll stay, but I don’t know.”

What’s the latest with Aubameyang?
Aubameyang is back in north London after a bout of coronavirus caused him to withdraw from Gabon’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign. He was pictured back in the gym last Thursday. His future, however, is far from clear. Reports have linked him with moves to Saudi Arabia and across Europe since losing the Arsenal captaincy in December.
According to various reports, Al Nassr have made a loan offer. The proposal involves the Saudi Arabian club signing Aubameyang on loan, with an obligation to buy in the summer for around £6.7 million.
Fellow Saudi side Al-Hilal are also believed to be interested.
Arsenal have not responded to the reports, while manager Mikel Arteta has refused to say when Aubameyang could re-join the squad for training.
“I don’t know [if he’ll be back training with the team]. We’ll see,” the Spaniard said at the weekend.
Aubameyang has not played for Arsenal since Arteta stripped him of the captain’s armband last month.
