After Jurgen Klopp’s high praise towards Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City manager responded earlier in a press conference.

Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have starred in one of the most interesting rivalries in modern football since they coached in Germany. During Klopp’s brilliant run at Borussia Dortmund, Pep arrived in coach Bayern Munich and both had a taste of what was about to come. Once Klopp came to England, Guardiola knew we were all in for a treat. Football matches between Liverpool and Manchester City have been a vibe, to say the least.

We always get the most passionate moments between these two managers who know they improve every time they face each other. This season was more inclined in Guardiola’s favor, but we saw the exact opposite last season. After the citizens were announced as the official Premier League champions on Tuesday, Klopp praised Pep as the best manager in the world. A major compliment considering Klopp is also considered along those lines.

Both Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti were gracious enough to congratulate Manchester City and Pep Guardiola after winning the title. Today, the Catalan manager revealed he celebrated alongside his players with pizza and a few drink in the training complex. When asked about the praise from both managers, this is what Pep responded as per Sky Sports: “I appreciate it a lot,

“He and [Everton manager] Carlo Ancelotti have done it, so I appreciate it a lot – both of them. I haven’t had a chance to answer messages yet, but I will do today. I admire both of them. Jurgen, of course, is an inspiration for me and he has made me – through his teams in Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool – a better manager. He made me think a lot about the games and everything, so I appreciate it a lot.”
