Premier League could decide to take away City’s titles in the aftermath of their alleged financial misconduct.

Pep Guardiola has taken a brutal dig at Manchester City’s Premier League rivals amid financial charges against the club.

The Citizens are being investigated for over 100 breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules. If they lose the legal case, Guardiola’s side could face serious punishments, including being stripped of their league titles.

The Spaniard, who accused other English clubs of conspiring against the Citizens earlier this week, continued his defence of Man City before their match against Aston Villa.

“Some moments belong to us – they absolutely belong to us regardless of the sentence,” he said.

“The goal from Aguero, when Balotelli slipped? I don’t know if we are responsible for Steven Gerrard slipping at Anfield. Was that our fault? I have respect for Steven Gerrard – but that moment belongs to us.

“The moments that we lived these years together, the Premier League will decide…but I know what we won and the way we won it. I know the effort we put in. If something happened in 2009 or 2010 it is not going to change one second.”

After their 3-1 victory against Villa, City must prepare for a crucial league game against Arsenal on Wednesday.
