The Premier League leaders have reportedly struck an agreement to sign the Borussia Dortmund attacker.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he cannot discuss Erling Haaland’s prospective move to the Etihad Stadium.

Various reports emerged on Monday claiming that Man City have sealed an agreement to sign Haaland in the summer and will pay the striker’s release clause at Borussia Dortmund, adding that an official announcement could be made this week.

Haaland reportedly passed his medical in Brussels on Monday and has accepted a five-year contract.

“Everybody knows the situation, I shouldn’t talk because I don’t like to talk about the future or next season,” Guardiola told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday.

“Dortmund and Man City told me I’m not allowed to say anything until it’s completely done. We’ll have time to talk. It’s not because I don’t want to talk about it, it’s because I can’t.”

Quizzed on the input he has on transfers, Guardiola added: “I would love to talk, honestly, but I can’t. They told me [not to] for the legal actions. We will have time to talk. Not because I don’t want [to], but I can’t.”

Guardiola spoke to the press ahead of Man City’s trip to Wolves on Wednesday. With a three-point cushion over second-place Liverpool, and with three games of the season left, the Premier League leaders hope to move a step closer to retaining their league crown at Molineux.
