Fresh reports from Germany have claimed the in-demand Norwegian superstar is on the verge of a Man City move.

Erling Haaland is on the brink of joining Manchester City and a deal could be announced later this week.

That’s according to Sky Germany. The report claims Haaland has told Borussia Dortmund of his plans to leave in the summer. Manchester City still need to sort out some details for the deal. The Premier League leaders, however, could announce an agreement later this week.

Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano has allegedly told Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke that the club plan to activate the €75 million release clause in Haaland’s contract.

Another report from The Athletic on Monday morning has claimed Haaland to Manchester City is a ‘done deal’.

The 21-year-old has supplied 85 goals and 23 assists in 88 appearances for Dortmund since joining the German side from RB Salzburg in January 2020 for €20 million.

If these reports are correct, Saturday’s home Bundesliga fixture against Hertha Berlin – the club’s last of the season – will be the final time Haaland dons the famous yellow and black jersey.

Neither Dortmund nor Manchester City have responded to these latest reports yet.

But BVB Sporting director Sebastian Kehl said at the weekend that club expect ‘ clarity’ over Haaland’s future in the upcoming week.
