During a recent interview, Pedri offended Real Madrid fans with some comments about the time he was rejected by the club in a trial.
Even if you fail to believe it, Pedri was closer to becoming a Real Madrid player during his childhood years. As it turns out, Los Blancos didn’t consider him a worthy prospect to represent the club. Pedri spoke about this particular experience on RAC1. During this interview, he spoke about his relationship with Leo Messi and the confidence he was given by Ronald Koeman.
In hindsight, Pedri might definitely become one of Barcelona’s best players in a short period of time. But his comments weren’t appreciated by Real Madrid fans, who considered very disrespectful. The giants from the capital never likes getting rejected and turn the ones who do it into their worst enemies. Pedri should get ready for the day he returns to a packed Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Jeers will become the norm for him.
Pedri’s most interesting statements on RAC1.
This is what Pedri said on RAC1’s ‘Tu Diras’ show: “When results start coming, he’s happier. Like everyone in the squad. I prefer to not speak to Leo about his future. It’s a decision that he has to make and we’ll enjoy having him while he’s here. Of course, I want him to stay for many years but he has to make the decision, I’m not getting involved.
“Koeman really surprised me because I didn’t expect him to be the way he is. He’s a guy who puts a lot of trust in young players. He gives us tips to get better, and above all, about how to enjoy ourselves on the pitch. If you enjoy it, it’ll work out much better. In the first few days I was there, when I put on the kit, I looked at the badge and I knew something wasn’t quite right. In the end, though, I was lucky enough to end up at the club that I want to be at.”
