After breaking the Covid-19 protocols in Italy, Juventus’ Paulo Dybala recently reacted to his actions via his social media channels.

It’s safe to say that Paulo Dybala is not going through the best moment of his career after breaking the Covid-19 protocols. Italy is one of the countries where the global pandemic hit the worst when the whole crisis exploded. In fact, Dybala was also one of the first Juventus players who got infected with the virus. It took Paulo longer than expected to completely recover from the issues. He even picked up a fresh injury that hasn’t allowed him to play much this season.

Even though he isn’t playing at all, that doesn’t change the fact that he is a public figure and a Juventus player. On paper, he should always take good care of the image he portrays to the club’s supporters and the Italian society. This is why his actions this week are so concerning to the club. Bypassing the Covid-19 protocols established by the Italian government has to be amongst the stupidest things Dybala could’ve done. Especially with his current situation at the club.

Dybala’s statement on the matter.

None of the other two players have made any type of public announcement yet, but Dybala had to make a statement. We still have to see Weston McKennie and Arthur Melo apologize for their actions as Juventus comes up with a proper punishment for all three of them. But in Dybala’s case, he is arguably the most important player from the three.

Wearing Juventus’ number ‘10’ jersey comes with an added pressure that not all players can handle. Dybala wrote a short apology on his Instagram stories where he tried to explain his actions: “I know that at such a difficult time in the world due to the COVID-19 [situation] it would be better not to be wrong. But I was wrong to stay out for dinner,” he wrote on Instagram. “It was not a party, but I was equally wrong and I apologize.”
