Paul Pogba wanted to make himself part of the debate that pins Leo Messi against Cristiano Ronaldo. There is usually a clear choice between the two when you ask a football personality, but not with Pogba. The French midfielder gave an answer you usually don’t see everyday and it’s probably the right one. Contrary to the ones who like picking one above the other, Pogba wanted to play it safe.
All those comparisons between the two greatest players in football history can become annoying at a certain point. Pogba understands that there are those who love both legends equally and refuse to say one is better than the other. Their stats are quite similar either way, why make us pick? Paul has the right idea when he was questioned about the most loaded question in this sport’s history.

During a Q&A reported by The Mirror, this is what Paul Pogba had to say about the biggest ebate in football: “It’s a nice but tricky question, as there is no best for me. Two different players. They are two players who both bring joy to watch. Any people are going to have their own opinion of them, just two legends. Me, I would just say they are two legends and not one is better than the other one.
“Just two people that give us football players, or football lovers, joy to watch. My toughest opponent on the pitch?” he went on. To be honest, it’s tough against N’Golo Kante. Casemiro too, he is a hard one also. I can’t remember all of them – they’re the first ones that come into mind, that I had. Yes, those are the first ones, maybe there are a few more players but I don’t have the names now.”
