Leo Messi and Papu Gomez are great friends who are part of the same squad in the Argentina National Team. Yesterday, Sevilla defeated FC Barcelona in the Copa del Rey’s first-leg semifinal with both players on the pitch. This was the first time they saw each other since the most recent South American World Cup qualifier. Right after the match ended, both players were spotted sharing some time together.
Messi has been criticized for enjoying himself right after losing the match. But in reality, we all wondered what was discussed during that conversation. Papu spoke to Cope Sevilla about the time he shared with Messi and revealed what they talked about. The Argentine player even revealed if Leo told him anything about his future at FC Barcelona.

Contrary to what has been criticized, Messi didn’t talk about the match itself. He actually discussed life with Papu Gomez because they hadn’t spoken to each other in months. Just like the rest of us, Leo wanted to know why Gomez hardly ever played for Atalanta. Cope Sevilla asked Papu about the famous conversation between both players: “We spoke about life.
“He asked me what happened in Atalanta. It was strange for him to find me in Spain. We didn’t discuss anything out of the ordinary. He asked me how I felt here. We also spoke with Lucas about his injury. All of us love Leo, he is Argentina’s captain and we only want the best for him. There was no conversation about his future.”
