After weeks of negotiations, PSG finally landed one of many top transfers of the summer window. He’s a rising star from Inter Milan.

Inter Milan just let one of their best defensive players leave the Italian club after accepting PSG’s €60 million offer plus €11 million in add-ons. Coming from Real Madrid’s famous player factory, Achraf Hakimi was part of that contingent that got rejected by Zinedine Zidane. Now that the French manager is no longer there, it’s very possible Los Blancos will regret allowing players like this one to leave the club. Hakimi is a 22-year old right-back with a keen sense of attacking that any club in the world would pay for.

Since PSG has never given up on the idea of investing proper money in players, Hakimi made perfect sense. This only one of several top players that the French giants are going to announce throughout the week. We know Gianluigi Donnarumma is amongst the planned transfers but they will wait for the Euros to end. And of course, Sergio Ramos will be one of the most exciting new signings they will announce this week. Hakimi already knows Sergio from his days at Real Madrid and the two will get together in Paris once more.

Hakimi is thrilled about the new challenge.

Before getting this call from PSG, Achraf Hakimi played at two different clubs in two of the biggest leagues in Europe. First, he went on to play for Borussia Dortmund for one season. Where he got 9 goals and 10 assists in 45 matches played between all competitions. After that, he won the Serie A title as a starter with 7 goals and 9 assists in another 45 matches.

Hakimi spoke to PSG’s official website on the day of his announcement: “I feel a great sense of pride today. After Spain, Germany, and Italy, Paris Saint-Germain offers me the chance to discover a new championship with one of the most prestigious clubs in the world. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates, the fans and experience the incredible color and passion inside the Parc des Princes. I share the same big ambitions as the coaching staff and my teammates and will do everything I can to deliver what is expected of me.”
