Official: FC Barcelona announce their latest signing from Turkey

Amid all the internal issues going on in the squad, FC Barcelona made the announcement of their latest signing from Turkish football. 

Even though FC Barcelona is currently going through one of their gravest institutional crises in recent memory, they still made time to sign a player. Although he is not coming to the club until the end of the season, Emre Demir was announced earlier today. We are talking about an interior midfielder with mostly offensive capabilities. However, he has the skill set to both play as a defensive or offensive player. A box-to-box footballer of sorts, Demir has gone through a quick-paced career thus far.

Coming from Kayserispor, this youngster will enroll on the second squad in La Masia before joining the first team. He arrived for €2 million and has a bright future ahead of him. This is the type of movement that Joan Laporta would make whilst thinking about the club’s future. Despite not having the most competitive squad at the moment, FC Barcelona is still considered to have some of the best youngsters in European football. At an elite level, many of them will go on to become great players.

Earlier today, the club’s official website made the announcement and revealed when Demir will start training with his teammates. This youngster comes at a complicated time for the Blaugranas, as they are in the middle of a manager swap. Here’s what the club said about Demir: “FC Barcelona and Kayserispor have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Emre Demir.

“The cost of the operation is 2 million euros more variable and will sign until June 30, 2027. The termination clause will be The player will remain with the Turkish team until the end of this season and will join Barça B from next season. The future Barça player is an international with the lower categories of the Turkish national team. At just 17, Emre Demir will continue to play for the rest of the season at Kayserispor, and will join Barça B next season to continue growing as a footballer.”
