The Tottenham manager gave an update on Harry Kane amid continued reports linking the striker to Manchester City.
Harry Kane continues to train as normal as he works his way back to match fitness, says Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Tottenham boss shed some light on Kane after the 28-year-old’s absence from the club’s 1-0 first-leg defeat to Pacos de Ferreira in their Europa Conference League playoff tie.
It means Kane has now missed both of Spurs’ first opening two games of the campaign. But while reports continue to link him to Manchester City, he is back in training and could return soon.
“He [Kane] trained today,” said Nuno as per Goal. “He trained with the group of players that stayed in England.
“He trained well, and he is going to train tomorrow, and when we return he will join all the players and work as the group and Harry in it.”
Lucas Silva’s first-half goal on Thursday night was enough to send a weakened Spurs team crashing to a 1-0 defeat to Pacos de Ferreira.
With a 1-0 aggregate deficit in mind, Nuno could recall Kane for next week’s second leg in north London. Spurs need at least two goals in the return fixture to qualify for the Europa Conference League group stages.
