The Reds welcome another new face ahead of their first campaign in the Premier League for 23 years.

Liverpool defender Neco Williams has joined Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £17.5 million (€21m).

The 21-year-old Welshman becomes Forest’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window. He has signed a four-year contract at City Ground. As loan star Djed Spence has returned to Middlesbrough, he could take the right-back position in Steve Cooper’s starting line-up.

Williams, who was on loan at Championship winners Fulham last season, will join his new team for training on Monday.

“I’m really excited to join Nottingham Forest and to help this great club move forwards in the Premier League,” the Wales international told the club’s website.

“Forest are a club with incredible history and The City Ground is a very special venue that I can’t wait to experience in full voice in the coming weeks. Having spoken to the Head Coach, there’s a huge amount of ambition being shown at the club. I can’t wait to join up with my new teammates and get ready for the challenge ahead.”

Which other players have Nottingham Forest signed?

The Premier League newcomers have signed Taiwo Awoniyi, Dean Henderson, Giulian Biancone, Moussa Niakhate, and Omar Richards this summer.

However, while Copper has strengthened his squad ahead of the new season, the manager could still add new players.

Reports have linked Tottenham defender Joe Rodon, Blackburn midfielder Joe Rothwell, Sheffield United star Morgan Gibbs-White, and Anderlecht midfield ace Josh Cullen with summer moves to City Ground.
