Serie A legend Gianluca Atzori has praised Victor Osimhen and compared the Nigerian star to the ‘Matador’ Edinson Cavani.

Osimhen was the hero again on Sunday as his late second-half goal sealed a 1-0 win over Torino, maintained Napoli’s 100% start to the season, and restored the club at the top of Serie A.
The 22-year-old is establishing a reputation as one of the most deadly strikers around. With eight goals in nine games across all competitions, including five Serie A goals, his progress has led to comparisons with Cavani.
“He started very strongly, and when a striker starts in confidence, usually, he enjoys this throughout the year,” ex-Empoli and Palermo star Atzori said on Tuttonapoli.net.
“He is physical, and he helps the team a lot and reminds me of the younger Cavani. I wish him to continue like this and make the same career as the Matador.”
Cavani spent three seasons at Napoli between 2011 and 2013. He managed 104 goals and 14 assists in 138 appearances across all competitions and won the Coppa Italia during the 2011/12 campaign.
He currently plays for Manchester United in the Premier League.
