After getting snubbed from The Best podium, Neymar had quite an interesting reaction on his social media accounts. He doesn’t agree.
Neymar has been snubbed from FIFA’s The Best Award podium this year, his reaction is at least interesting to watch. The Brazilian star had a tremendous season at PSG but he couldn’t quite cut it after getting eliminated in the final by Bayern Munich.
However, very few will argue that he was one of the best players in the world during the pandemic season. He led his teammates all the way to the final with many important goals and assists. But in the end, titles are the ones that make all the difference.
Today’s announcement of the three nominees for The Best Award was a surprise because nobody expected Messi to be part of it. Neymar clearly had a better season but it didn’t matter. What came next is a reaction that very few were expecting from a player who is currently amongst the best in the world without question.
Neymar’s unorthodox reaction.
Rather than getting a full-on response from him on social media complaining about this snub. Instead, Neymar decided to make a couple of tweets in which he simply alluded to the fact that FIFA completely ignored him.
This is not the first time he reacts in this manner as he did it also during the IFFHS’s Best XI of 2020 announcement. During that snub, teammate Thiago Silva wrote: “Neymar was in the NBA bubble.” To what Neymar responded: “They recruited me.”
But today’s reaction was a bit more imaginative from Neymar himself as he wrote the following on Twitter: “Since tennis didn’t work, I’m moving to basketball.” After this, he also wrote: “I quit basketball, now I’m a gamer.”
