The Parisians’ star duo will be both be out of contract in 2022, and it appears Pochettino won’t change the club’s stance.
Paris Saint-Germain intend to prioritize resolving Neymar’s future before turning their attention to Kylian Mbappe, according to reports.
Both players will be out of contract in the summer of 2022, prompting fears over their respective futures. There is no shortage of interest in them. In Mbappe’s case especially, with rumored interest from Real Madrid and several other clubs.
According to Marca, however, PSG plan to focus on sorting out a new contract for Neymar first. Doubts over the Brazilian’s future, amid regular speculation over a Barcelona comeback, have ceased lately. He is no longer trying to force an exit and appears to have turned things around on the pitch as well.
While Neymar is out again with an ankle injury, the 28-year-old has managed nine goals and five assists in 12 appearances in all competitions this season. He’s also supplied seven goal contributions (3 goals, 4 assists) in only seven Ligue 1 outings.
PSG sporting director Leonardo, therefore, will focus on the club’s world-record signing before turning his attention to Mbappe’s future.
