The Brazilian is understood to be set to extend his stay at Parc des Princes, with reports suggesting that an official announcement is close.
Neymar is committed to Paris Saint-Germain as he feels “important and appreciated” at the club, says Ander Herrera.
Neymar, who joined PSG in a record-breaking €222 million move back in 2017, had been linked with a move back to FC Barcelona in recent transfer windows.
The 29-year-old even handed in a transfer request in June 2019, as per Sky Sports, amid growing uncertainty over his future back then.
However, things have changed for the better regarding the Neymar situation at the French capital with the player understood to be set to extend his stay beyond 2022.
“Neymar, two years ago, it was spoken about every day that he had a desire to return to Barca. But, from September-October (2019), I saw a very committed Neymar,” Herrera told El Larguero.
“I saw that he had ‘taken the flag of the project’. He feels important, appreciated. I think he’s enjoying every day. It’s going well.
The Brazilian forward has scored 13 goals and registered five assists across all competitions for the Ligue 1 champions so far this season.
Herrera added: “Neymar is a natural leader. He takes the ball, comes to get it, carries the team on his back.”
