In an exclusive interview, Neymar took on the opportunity to compare one of his PSG colleagues to Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

According to Neymar, one of his Paris-Saint Germain teammates is as good as his former Barcelona colleagues Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

After leaving the Catalan club, the Brazilian settled for a life in Paris, although he always missed his close buddy, Leo Messi. However, ever since the Argentine has joined the ranks of PSG, Neymar has been cheerful.

“I am really happy to have [Leo] Messi at PSG. He is not only an idol but also an ace, a genius and a friend. When you have friends by your side the day is lighter and more relaxed. Hopefully, we’ll write history as we did at Barcelona,” Neymar told La Repubblica.

Most certainly, both the South Americans had a victorious time at Camp Nou having won the Champions League in 2015. Besides, Xavi and Iniesta were also a part of that triumphant squad.

Who does he think is worth?

For Neymar, Marco Verratti is one PSG player that he believes is sitting right on top next to two of the best midfielders in the world. When asked which players shocked him the most at Parc des Princes, the Brazilian had a specific answer.

“Two of them, [Kylian] Mbappé and [Marco] Verratti. Mbappé is young, fast, a great player. I knew Verratti was an excellent player, but I didn’t realise he was so spectacular. A genius. He’s one of the best midfielders I’ve played with, along with Xavi and Iniesta.”

The Italian has never played in Serie A because he moved to PSG in 2012, which was right after his featuring for Serie B side, Pescara. With 353 outings for the Ligue 1 club, the 28-year-old has nine goals.

Verratti’s agreement with PSG will last until June 2024, then he will become a free agent unless a further deal is signed beforehand.
