Manchester United have added Donny van de Beek to their ranks this season but need more players to reinforce their dressing room.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a private man. He does not like to speak in the microphone whatever his next whim is. Quite different from his predecessor, Jose Mourinho.

The Norwegian has not improved on the Special One’s showings and managed the same points as last year. However, he has brought stability at the club, although the club have struggled to impose themselves.

Solskjaer is playing the waiting game and unlike Mourinho, winning at it. Donny van de Beek is the only roster addition he has so far, but more are surely on the way.

This is what his former teammate, Gary Neville believes. The player turned pundit has identified three priority areas for reinforcements, left-back, center-back and a pure center-forward.

Neville believes United will add players in these target areas and allayed fears that no more reinforcements will be made.

“I think the left-back area is important because Luke [Shaw] has had injury problems,” Metro quoted Neville.

“I think center-back is critical and I do think at least one forward is important. I still think we need three or four signings.”

“I’ve got a feeling they [the Manchester United board] are on it and are just not getting them over the line quite as quickly as they’d want.”

“But they’re not panicking and they’re still in control I think. They’re not reacting to the market like they were a few years ago, they’re in control.”

“The signings are better, they’re a better age-profile and look like they will be at the club for a long time rather than a season or two.”

“I’m positive generally about United, but getting those players over the line is critical.”

United’s match against Burnley has been postponed. They will lock horns with Crystal Palace for their first Premier League fixture of the 2020/21 campaign.
