The Spaniard has always been a reliable option to call upon for Los Blancos but has never really been a guaranteed name on team sheets.

Nacho has been with the Real Madrid first-team for over a decade now, and he has been a consistent performer throughout those years.

The defender’s versatility makes him a sharp tool in Los Blancos’ arsenal with the player well capable of operating from both left-back and right-back other than his preferred center-back position.

Nacho, despite his qualities, however, never been a regular starter. Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane most often than not take up the central positions in the backline and he acts as a stand-in for the pair.

Speculations have surfaced recently suggesting the 30-year-old is unhappy with his situation and is seeking a move away from Santiago Bernabeu with the intention of becoming a starter.

The Real Madrid academy product, however, dismissed such rumors as he insists he remains fully committed with the club.

“I dreamt of making one appearance and I’ve made over 200. All of the coaches who played me have very good things to say about me,” Nacho declared as per the club’s official website.

“Personally, I would have preferred to have played 50 games a season instead of 20 or 30, I can’t deny that, but I’m happy.

“I’m at the club I want to be at. I get offers every summer but I’m a happy player here. I fight for the club I want to be at. Right now, I wouldn’t swap my situation for anybody’s.”

Nacho is likely to start in Tuesday’s Champions League Group B matchday 5 clash against Shakhtar Donetsk with Ramos out injured.
